Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk

A 6km clifftop walk with crashing waves, ocean pools, and stunning views. Start at Bondi Icebergs, walk past Tamarama, and end at Bronte's grass-covered cliff. Free and unforgettable.

Walk Across the Harbour Bridge

The pedestrian pathway across the Sydney Harbour Bridge is free. The views of the Opera House and harbour from the midpoint are extraordinary. Sunrise walks are magical with golden light on the sails.

Royal Botanic Gardens

A free harbourside garden with the Opera House as a backdrop. The Mrs Macquaries Point walk gives the classic postcard view. Cockatoos, bats, and ibises are free wildlife entertainment.

Circular Quay to Opera House Walk

A free waterfront walk from the ferry terminals to the Opera House. Street performers, harbour views, and the Opera House getting closer with each step. The forecourt is free to explore.

Art Gallery of NSW

Free entry to one of Australia's best art collections — from Aboriginal art to contemporary Australian works. The new Sydney Modern building has free galleries and a stunning harbour-view terrace.

The Rocks Heritage Walk

Wander the cobblestoned streets of Sydney's oldest neighbourhood for free. The weekend markets, heritage buildings, and the view from Observatory Hill are all free to enjoy.

Manly Beach Walk

Take the ferry (cheap, not free) to Manly, then the free beachfront walk along the Corso to the ocean beach is beautiful. The Shelly Beach snorkelling cove at the south end is a bonus.

Barangaroo Headland

A free harbourside park with native sandstone and bushland. The walking path around the headland offers views of the harbour without the Circular Quay crowds.
