Instagram Saved Locations: Find Them, Then Map Them

Oct 15, 2026 · 4 min read

The short answer: Instagram has no list of saved locations. Your saved posts live under your profile menu, in Saved. A place only shows as a location when the creator tagged one, and each post holds one tag at most. To get every place from your saves onto one map, share each Reel to Triply, which pins every clearly named place in about 4 seconds.

Where Instagram keeps your saved posts

  1. Open your profile and tap the menu (three lines) in the top right.
  2. Tap Saved.
  3. Open All posts, or one of your collections.

When you save a post, you can add it to a collection, such as "Tokyo", so your travel saves don't get buried between recipes and workout videos.

How to see the location on a saved post

Open the post. If the creator tagged a place, its name sits under their account name at the top. Tap it to open that place's page, with where it is and other posts tagged there.

No name under the account? Then the post has no location tag, even if the video shows ten places. Read the caption, pause on the on-screen text, or see how to find the exact location in a Reel.

Why your saved locations never add up to a map

  • One tag per post. A Reel about ten cafés in Lisbon usually tags the city, or nothing at all.
  • The real places hide in the video. They're in the caption, the on-screen text and the voice-over, and Instagram doesn't turn any of that into locations.
  • Saved has no map and no search by place. Finding the bakery you saved in March means scrolling.
  • Instagram Map is not a map of your saves. It lives in your messages, launched in August 2025 starting in the US, and shows friends who share their location plus recent tagged posts. It only knows location tags, so that ten-café Reel is still one pin or none.
About 4 seconds a Reel

Put every saved place on one map

  1. Open a saved Reel and tap Share.
  2. Pick Triply from the share sheet, or copy the link and paste it in the app.
  3. Triply's AI reads the Reel and pins every clearly named place in about 4 seconds, with photos and ratings.
  4. Sort the pins into collections, or turn them into a day-by-day trip with flights, hotels and friends.

Do this for the saves that matter and your Saved folder turns into one map you can plan a trip from. Triply is free on iOS, with Android in beta on Google Play. For more ways to do it, see how to save places from Instagram Reels and how to turn saved Instagram Reels into a map.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my saved locations on Instagram?

Instagram has no separate list of saved locations. Saved posts are under your profile menu, in Saved. The location of each post is the place name under the account name, when the creator tagged one.

Can I see my Instagram saved posts on a map?

Not inside Instagram. Saved has no map view, and Instagram Map shows friends and recent tagged posts, not your saves. Sharing your saved Reels to Triply puts every place in them on one map.

Why doesn't a saved Reel show a location?

The creator didn't tag one. Many travel Reels name places only in the caption, on-screen text or voice-over, which Instagram doesn't treat as locations.

Turn your saved Reels into one map.

Share a Reel to Triply and every place in it lands on your map in about 4 seconds. Then plan the trip with friends, all in the same app.
