Free Things to Do in Singapore
You don't need to spend a cent to have an incredible time in Singapore. Here are the best free experiences the city has to offer.
Free activities in Singapore
Gardens by the Bay Outdoor Areas
The outdoor gardens, Supertree Grove, and nightly light show are all free. The Dragonfly Lake, Heritage Gardens, and the OCBC Skyway views are beautiful without paying for the domes.
Marina Barrage Rooftop
A free rooftop garden on the dam with 360-degree views of Marina Bay, the city skyline, and the sea. Families fly kites here on weekends. The panorama at sunset is spectacular.
Walk from Chinatown to Little India
A free walking route through three distinct cultural districts — Chinatown's temples, Kampong Glam's mosques, and Little India's Hindu temples. The architecture, smells, and food change every few blocks.
East Coast Park
A long stretch of free beachfront park with cycling paths, BBQ pits, and hawker centres. The weekend atmosphere is relaxed and local. Rent a bike and ride from Marine Parade to Changi.
Singapore Botanic Gardens
A free UNESCO World Heritage garden in the heart of the city. The rainforest section, swan lake, and ginger garden are all beautiful. The National Orchid Garden charges a fee but the rest is free.
MacRitchie Reservoir Walk
Free walking trails through primary rainforest with monkeys, monitor lizards, and the famous treetop walk. It's hard to believe this pristine jungle exists in a modern city.
