A tiny, no-nonsense specialty coffee roaster in the Jordaan. The baristas take their craft seriously — the flat white is textbook perfect. Standing room mostly, so grab and walk.
De Wasserette
A neighbourhood cafe in a converted laundromat in East Amsterdam. All-day brunch, great coffee, and a laidback local crowd. The French toast with seasonal fruit is outstanding.
Back to Black
Specialty coffee with a dark, moody aesthetic near the Jordaan. Their cold brew is probably the best in Amsterdam, and the cinnamon rolls are baked fresh. Small space, big flavour.
Café George
An elegant grand café overlooking the Amstel river with high ceilings and big windows. It's where Amsterdam's fashionable crowd brunches — the eggs Benedict and the coffee are both excellent.
Monks Coffee Roasters
An Australian-run specialty roaster in De Pijp. The beans are roasted on-site, the flat whites are excellent, and the toasties are the best in the neighbourhood. Laptop-friendly with good WiFi.
