Climb Montmartre to Sacré-Cœur

The winding streets of Montmartre are free to explore — artists painting in Place du Tertre, the vineyard, and the panoramic view from the basilica steps. The neighbourhood is Paris at its most romantic.

Walk the Tuileries Garden

The formal French garden between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde is free and beautiful. The symmetrical paths, fountains, and sculpture are quintessential Paris. Find a green chair and sit by the pond.

Notre-Dame Exterior and Île de la Cité

While the cathedral interior undergoes restoration, the exterior and the island itself are free to explore. The flower market, medieval streets, and the view from Pont de l'Archevêché are iconic.

Free Museums on First Sundays

Many Paris museums are free on the first Sunday of each month — Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, and Musée de l'Orangerie. Queue early for the most popular. The Pompidou rooftop view is always free.

Père Lachaise Cemetery

The world's most famous cemetery is free to wander. Find the graves of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Édith Piaf, and Chopin among elaborate tombs shaded by ancient trees.

Jardin du Luxembourg

The most beloved park in Paris — free entry to manicured gardens, the Medici Fountain, and the model boat pond. Parisians come to read, jog, and play chess. It's the city's living room.

Le Marais Architecture Walk

The Marais has Paris's best-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture. Place des Vosges (Paris's oldest planned square), Hôtel de Sully, and the narrow streets are all free to explore.
