Free Things to Do in Prague
You don't need to spend a cent to have an incredible time in Prague. Here are the best free experiences the city has to offer.
Free activities in Prague
Walk Charles Bridge at Sunrise
The 14th-century bridge lined with baroque statues is free to cross. At sunrise, morning mist rises from the Vltava and the statues glow golden. You'll have it nearly to yourself before 7am.
Old Town Square
The astronomical clock, Týn Church, and the pastel baroque facades are all free to admire from the square. The clock show every hour is free — position yourself in advance.
Vyšehrad Cemetery and Fortress
The hilltop fortress is free with panoramic Vltava views. The Art Nouveau cemetery contains the graves of Czech composers and writers. The Romanesque rotunda is one of Prague's oldest buildings.
Letná Park and Metronome
A hilltop park with the best panoramic view of Prague's bridges. The giant metronome (replacing a demolished Stalin statue) clicks rhythmically. Bring a beer from a nearby shop and enjoy the view.
John Lennon Wall
A constantly evolving graffiti wall in Malá Strana covered in Beatles lyrics and messages of peace. Originally a Cold War protest, it's now a living artwork. Bring a marker and add your message.
Petřín Hill Walk
Walk up through orchards and gardens to the top of Petřín Hill for castle and city views. The rose garden blooms beautifully in May-June. The observation tower (a mini Eiffel Tower) is a paid option.
