A small-batch roaster in Woodstock with a minimalist tasting room. Their single-origin filter coffees are outstanding, the seasonal Ethiopian washed is always a highlight. Serious coffee for serious nerds.

Jason Bakery

A beloved City Bowl bakery with legendary doughssants (doughnut-croissant hybrids) and excellent coffee. The savoury croissants with bacon and cheese are perfect breakfast fuel. Get there early, they sell out.

Deluxe Coffeeworks

A Cape Town roaster with multiple locations, the Kloof Street branch has the best vibe. Great flat whites, good food, and a reliable WiFi connection for remote workers.

Tribe Coffee

A huge roastery-cafe in Woodstock with an industrial interior. Watch beans being roasted while sipping an excellent pour-over. The brunch menu is solid and the space is laptop-friendly.

Bootlegger Coffee Company

Multiple locations across the city, all with consistently great espresso. The Sea Point branch has ocean views and the carrot cake is dangerously good. A solid everyday coffee spot.

Haas Collective

A beautiful cafe in the city centre with exposed brick, green plants, and excellent specialty coffee. The pastries are baked in-house and the matcha latte is Cape Town's best.
